Leon Somov

Leon Somov, the acclaimed electronic music producer and DJ, is embarking on an exciting new chapter in his illustrious career. Known for his innovative approach and impeccable production skills, Somov is blending his pop music roots with modular sound expertise to introduce a fresh wave of smooth, easy-to-listen-to, deep house-like modular music.

Leon first rose to fame as one-half of the award-winning duo "Leon Somov & Jazzu". Their undeniable chemistry and groundbreaking sound earned them the prestigious "MTV European Music Award for Best Baltic Act in 2009" in Berlin, Germany. Beyond his success with Jazzu, Leon is also a pivotal member of the "Lithuanian/Swedish electronic band Highly Sedated", signed to Size Records by Steve Angello from Swedish House Mafia.

In addition to his own projects, Leon collaborates with a variety of celebrated Lithuanian artists, including "Saulės Kliošas, Justinas Jarutis, Jurga, Kaia, KAnDIs", and many others. His influence stretches across borders, working with the renowned Ukrainian singer "Jamala", Latvia's "Sudden Lights" (Eurovision Song Contest participants), and Estonia’s "I Wear Experiment".

This year alone, Leon's penchant for experimentation was showcased in performances where he combined electronic music with the electrifying spectacle of Nikola Tesla coils at the "Museum of Energy and Technology in Vilnius". He ventured into the world of fashion, creating a unique soundtrack for designer "Agnė Kuzmickaitė’s" show, using only sewing machine sounds. He also enriched visual installations in Vilnius with his electronic music and remains dedicated to nurturing new talent through various masterclasses for emerging performers and producers.

Leon’s contributions have been recognized time and time again, with multiple Lithuanian music awards for "Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Producer of the Year, Band of the Year, Electronic Act of the Year, Concert Artist of the Year, and Most Popular Author of the Year".

Before launching his music career, Leon worked in radio and an advertising agency. His sound has been profoundly influenced by iconic acts like "Massive Attack and Depeche Mode".
